The creation of strict laws and environmental regulations require that companies become more efficient on the productive and environmental points of view.
Cermatex, in the last years, has been investing and continually improving the area of effluent treatment. Since 2008 a series of works towards improvement has been done; mechanical aerators were replaced by modern air diffusers, providing economy of electric energy and increase of efficiency of the treatment station. The area has also been rearranged as far illumination, which investments allowed better distribution and adaptation of lamps, providing significant economy in the consumption of electric energy.
Currently the station counts with a modern system of physical-chemical treatment, that reaches a respectable mark of 98% efficiency in the treated water, overcoming the demands of the Article 18, of Decree no. 8.468, of September 8, 1976, on prevention and control of pollution of the environment.
Cermatex has also finished its wastewater treatment station. With this modern process, the wastewater is pumped from dams and its treatment is accomplished internally. Later on, after the use in the productive processes, it is returned to the effluent with perfect removal of the residuals.
Periodically, the company makes evaluations of the effectiveness of its system of effluents removal and, fortnightly, a number of analyses are accomplished at several points of the treatment, thus evaluating the effectiveness of the system as far as removal of colors and characteristics of treated water. Besides that control, CETESB (an official state environmental inspection company) makes inspection every three months; results are thoroughly satisfactory, which gives to Cermatex system a high reliability and proper respect to the environment.
